Timeline Course // Part Four. Letting Go and Trusting Your Vendors

Tips For Brides

If you try and control everything on the day of your wedding, your timeline will suffer because you’ll be off doing all the things. And there are LOTS of things happening on a wedding day. (True story, we once had a bride disappear during her getting ready time because she had so much to do, including being out showing cars where to park. Boo for the added stress she felt that day.) The more you can get off your plate, the more peaceful your day will be.  So, plan now to let it all go and leave it up to your team of trusted vendors and friends.

Phew! Done, right? Feeling light as a feather? 🙂

Ha! Probably not. It can be hard to trust, especially when there are so many moving parts. The first and most important step in trusting a vendor is to find one who is the right fit for you and your wedding.

Trust-building list for vendors:

1) Have you met and visited with them in person?

2) Do you like them?

3) Have you talked to your friends about their experiences?

4) Have you read reviews?

5) Do you have a legal contract?

6) Will they participate in a trust fall? Just kidding. 🙂

Not kidding about this part, though. There are hundreds of talented photographers, florists, caterers, etc out there, but not all of them appeal to you. Listen to your gut when it says, “I don’t really like this.” Let trends or tradition hold no sway in your heart. Then find a vendor whose work makes you think yessssssss!

Bring ’em on your team, sit back and them them do their thing.

You’ll be so happy you did.
