This note is about how to make the most of your wedding day details. That’s right — I’m talking about the decorations, the tablescapes, the floral, jewelry, rings, wedding-day program, invitations, the sentimental items, cakes, pretty pretty bridal shoes, and that signage you’ve been working on for weeks.
(Let’s just take a moment here to give you a round of applause. Phew! You are on fire — a wedding-planning master!)
The best time to photograph all of these things is before the wedding and before your guests arrive to start enjoying all of your plans (hello, half-drunk glasses and food plates on your pretty pretty tables). That means you should plan your timeline to have your decorations out, tables ready, cake + floral delivered, and signs out as close as possible to 2 hours before the start of the ceremony.
This will allow your photographer to be able to get all of your details photographed strategically and beautifully as they document you during the “getting ready” portion of your wedding day.
Speaking of getting ready, our best photography tip for your rings is to have them all (yours and your fiancé’s) with you in the bridal room. That way your photographers won’t have to track down that groomsmen with your ring, and they can get right to photographing that sparkler. 🙂 Other things to have gathered in one location are your dress, veil / hair pieces, shoes, bouquet & bout, jewelry, perfume, invitation suite, heirloom items and a bit of extra floral. That way, when your photographers arrive, they can get started doing what they do best — documenting the best day ever!
