Timeline Course // Part One

Tips For Brides

You’re here! You’re here! I’m so glad you are, because it’s the perfect time for a chat.

Let’s talk timelines.

Whether you are drawn toward a timeline that keeps your day running as your captain on a tight ship, or you prefer going with the flow and have a “don’t-fence-me-in” aesthetic, you need a timeline.

Whether your day is 2 hours or 12, you need a timeline.

Whether your wedding day takes place at the largest venue in town or in the backyard of the smallest house, you need a timeline.

You need a timeline. 🙂

Here’s why — A timeline makes sure that you have adequate time for portraits, and it gives you the most wonderful sense of peace knowing that it’s all been thought through and you’re getting the best out your photographers.

And, don’t worry. I’m right here beside you to help.

Things just seem to happen on a wedding day —  hair and makeup take longer than expected, there’s a wardrobe malfunction, the flowers are delivered late, there’s traffic, it takes extended time to move the wedding party between locations, parking issues arise. We’ve seen every one of these, over and over. Because stuff happen, this is where I want to start our first tip: allow for more time than you think you need.

We suggest adding an extra 15 minutes each to your getting ready time, travel times and portrait time to keep things running smoothly. If you don’t need it, there’s absolutely nothing lost! You can enjoy more time with your guests!

Check out how we’ve found a wedding day to work best, hour-by-hour, on page 12 of our online magazine here.

I hope that you found this tip helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me an email at steph@stephandchrisphotography.com. I’d be happy to help you start planning your perfect day!
