Mother’s Day Mini Session | 4/29

Personal

My favorite thing that a photograph can do is make you remember — re-feel, re-live, re-embrace precious moments.

All around me right now are photos of my oldest son — we celebrated  his fifth birthday on Saturday and used photos taken throughout his fourth year as party decorations . Hanging on a garland is a picture of him in the creek with a splash higher than his ears. Right next to it, clipped on by a tiny clothes pin, is an image of him running down the road with his brother; I can literally hear their cackling laughter. There’s a photo of when we rode Thomas the Train in October, and I can hear his hands clapping in excitement. In an image hanging over the piano, he’s opening a Christmas present, eyes wide with anticipation. He’s sliding down the slip-and-slide with Chris, catching a rainbow trout in Arkansas, and roasting a hot dog in the backyard.

I don’t have the greatest memory, but with images — it all comes rushing back.

Mother’s Day is coming up, and I can’t think of a better way to commemorate it than with a Mother’s Day mini session.

I want to remember what it’s like to mother these little guys right now.

I want to remember how their little hands feel in mine and how close they like to snuggle. I want to remember their funny phrases and sounds. I want to remember their stories. Oh, and the literal pitter pat of little feet? That’s another memory that I just can’t lose. The way they stretch and then reach for me in the morning, the soft cushion of their cheek on mine while I sip coffee and they wake up in my arms.

I want to remember the joy, not just for the future’s sake, but for the time in five minutes when I need to be reminded again. Because these little guys — with their little messy fingers, and loud voices, and tendency to want what they want when they want it  — can really stretch my patience. Anybody with me?

So, we’re getting together to do something about it!

Mother’s Day mini sessions are open for booking — we have five spots, and would love to be part of your remembering! Whether your children are small, middle or grown, this is for you.

The mini sessions are April 29 — $75 for 30 mins. and include two 5×7 and one 8×10 of your favorite image.

We’ll laugh, play and capture the joy, then a few days later, we’ll meet up and you’ll view your images — YAY. It’ll be here that you’ll decide what images you’d like to order. They’ll be in your hands in time for Mother’s Day! When you book, we’ll go ahead and get a date on the calendar for when you can see your pictures. 🙂

Also, as an added benefit for you momma friends, we’ll enroll you in our first ever in-person class on how to take better photographs and capture your every day. (We’re still working on that content, so if you have any suggestions or specific questions, we’d LOVE to hear them!)
