I loved her instantly.
Talk about a vivacious, joyful, hilarious, beautiful and incredibly PRECIOUS woman!
A Texas girl herself, she’d relocated to Connecticut for work. While in New York for a cousin’s birthday celebration, she met her Demic. Like grew to love and, last Christmas, right there on one knee, in the middle of the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center, he asked her to marry him.
Kelli is the kind of person who connects well–what a special and others-focused natural gift! I hadn’t seen her since our queso date, so I’d been watching the calendar for their wedding with increasing excitement. Yes, I was excited for Kelli and Demic–marriage is wonderful!–but, also… honestly, I couldn’t wait to see my friend again!
Their wedding day was everything and more: beautiful connection, friendship, and the depth and legacy of soul-knitted families uniting. When I think back on that night, I see a tapestry of joyful blues, silvers and reds: every person woven together in joyful celebration.
I love these two.
Rain kept us indoors and on the covered beeeeautiful porches at the Carleen Bright Arboretum until near the end of the night when we snuck off to the bridge. So dreamy.
The rain stayed away as the whole crew boarded a school bus (yes! isn’t that fun!) to end the night!
